The power pigtail was cut but properly repaired. It comes complete with a set of inner and outer control knobs in good used condition. Color of the dial numbers is sharp. Finding a real deal original 1968-71 Torino/Fairlane AM FM Stereo radio today is quite task.
Recently bench tested it and determined is not functional. That I removed from a vehicle many years ago and properly stored. It receives no FM or AM stations. AM FM radios were quite rare options in the 1960s and early 1970's, especially on less expensive cars like Torino Fairlane.
It does not receive stations across the AM or FM dial. Overall cosmetic appearance is excellent, clean and all original. It comes complete with a set of inner and outer knobs in good used condition as well the chrome shaft mounting nuts which are unique to these radios. Red stereo indicator light does not.
Chrome on the bezel and slide bar is good. Power pigtail has a splice; speaker is uncut. I recently tested it and determined to be non-functional. Not very many were made due to the high cost of option and limited amount FM stations in non-urban areas.
The clear plastic dial is not scratched, cracked or cloudy. This radio will also fit1969 1970 and 1971 model's as well 1968-71 Mercury Montage Cyclone. All set and change stations nicely. Dial light works.
Since this radio does not appear to have been serviced for quite some time, I will sell it as is. The tuner slides smoothly across the dial with no slipping. Most of the radios that were produced tossed out years ago or are already installed in cars. Slide bar toggles between AM and FM bands.
