The preset buttons work. The clear plastic dial is not scratched, cracked or cloudy. Dial light works. To clear up any confusion many Ford AM FM radios from the mid 60s thru late 70s will fit opening of your 1968-71 Torino, Fairlane, Cobra, Rancher or 68-71 Mercury Cyclone, Comet Montage but this is correct that would have come factory.

AM FM radios were quite rare options in the 1960s and early 1970's, especially on less expensive cars like Fairlane Torino. This radio is specific to these model's because it has a unique chrome bezel that designed protrude through the opening in dashboard. Sidebar toggles between AM and FM band locations. Chrome on the pot metal sidebar is excellent.

It comes complete with its original inner and outer tuning knob sin excellent condition. There is no rust on the case. Color of the white dial numbers and orange pointer is sharp. The power and speaker pigtails have been spliced the correct terminal ends.

The tuner slides smoothly across the dial with no slipping. I recently bench tested it and determined to be non-functional. All set and change station locations nicely. Most of the radios that were produced tossed out years ago or are already installed in cars.

It is similar to and will also fit other 68-71 Ford Mercury model's see below. Not very many were made due to the high cost of option and limited amount FM stations in non urban areas. Don't miss this real deal factory AM FM Stereo radio. The Formic number stamped on the side is C9OA-19A241 9FBO.
