Since the block is the same I am only guessing that it will work on either engine. Mustang Shelby 4spd car soon to be finished soon to be listed follow my name for future listing. I can not say for sure Ford 390 428cj C6 trans inspection cover dipstick tube only see pictures ask questions selling off years of Mustang parts ask if your looking for something odd. I have been asked if the tube was from a 428 cobra jet or super cobra jet.

These parts came from my garage from years of working on Mustangs. I'm not even sure if there is a distinct difference from a 390 to a 428. Safe bet is that it was from a 390 Fe mid sixties but again I simply do not know for sure.
