Conclusion:The AMC 1JA4009 1970 AMX Javelin Radio, Tape Player, and Video System is a unique addition to your classic car that can enhance its overall appeal and provide a nostalgic experience. However, it's essential to consider the potential maintenance issues, obsolescence, and limited functionality compared to modern systems.
Recommendation:If you're a devoted classic car enthusiast and prioritize the vintage aesthetic and sound quality, this system would be a worthwhile investment. However, if you value the latest technology and functionality, you might want to consider a modern aftermarket entertainment system that can be custom-installed to match your car's interior.
Its a one year only radio that will NOT fit any other years or model's. I will guarantee it to be received as described. This is a factory original AMC AM radio with built in 8 track tape player model number 1JA4009. No other mounting hardware is included.
If it doesn't work, you can go directly to YouTube and do this exact search in the search box: , look for the video with that title. The tape door has some light scratches, but looks pretty decent. The dial on the radio is nice, and station indicator needle isn't faded as they often get. The plugs for power and speakers have been cut off, but theres plenty of wiring left to splice onto, I've labeled all the wires as where they go.
Sorry, but due to past problems, no shipping outside the USA. I think the reception could be better. This unit will need to be serviced or repaired work properly. This is a pretty nice looking radio that I would consider as being in driver quality condition.
Its correct for 1970 only AMX and Javelin. If you're on a mobile device, the link may or not work. The knobs are NOT the correct originals, but similar looking to and included nuts that go on shafts hold radio into front of dash. Thanks!.: .
Just testing this unit it ate two tapes of mine. I've bench tested this unit and the radio works dial light. If you're on a laptop or desk top computer, you can the video link Arthur end of below to see this radio playing. Some tapes just wouldn't play properly, while others would get eaten up.
Please bear in mind that even though these were considered state of the art when they new, back then often troublesome. I'm selling this unit as-is as non-working and needing to be serviced or repaired work properly.
